Thesis

The goal of this research is to explore details of the murder of Emmett Till in the press; trying to delve deeper into how media sources handled the reporting of such a horrific event. We will be taking a look at the original interview with the murderers, as well as accounts from Emmett Till's mother surrounding the death. Letter's to the editor surrounding Look's interview with the murderers will also be reviewed. Through this research we will see how media sources effected the populations that read them and how in turn they reacted to the news in the manner it was reported.
